Our Philosophy
At Courtney Leidy, the work begins with the stone—not for rarity alone, but for its character.
What draws the eye is often something less obvious: an unusual pattern, a depth of color, a surface that feels alive. Each stone is selected for its individual presence and integrity. Rather than relying on convention, value is established through composition—how materials are placed, balanced, and brought into dialogue.
Stones are paired deliberately—often contrasting an earthy cabochon with a jewel-toned faceted stone, or introducing a color pairing that shifts the entire perception of the piece. Through these juxtapositions, materials are elevated. The result is not decorative, but compositional—closer to object than ornament.
Scale, material, and proportion define the work. Some stones are chosen for their size and presence; others for their clarity, tone, or precision of cut. Whether bold or more understated, each piece is resolved with the same attention to balance and proportion—designed to stand on its own, without excess.
Interchangeability is introduced as a considered element within the collection. Select pieces are designed to be reconfigured, connected, or simply worn in isolation—offering multiple ways to approach the same piece. Authorship is intentionally shared, encouraging combinations that feel personal while giving the wearer the ability to evolve how the work is worn over time.
The collection is developed gradually and with consistency. Forms are revisited and refined, establishing a clear and enduring point of view. It is conceived as a lasting body of work—meant to be collected, lived with, and returned to over time.

The Craft and Process
Each piece is made to order.
Stones are sourced individually, with an emphasis on character, scale, and proportion—often cabochons with distinctive patterns and presence, alongside faceted stones with vibrant color.
Materials include 18k yellow gold, as well as bronze and other unexpected elements, selected for their weight, tone, and durability.
Production follows a measured schedule, with pieces released in small batches. Each piece is made individually, with attention to finish and consistency.
New designs are introduced selectively. The collection evolves with continuity, maintaining a clear and cohesive visual language.
The collection is designed with longevity in mind with pieces that can be collected over time.
